Statements from service providers
The
Association of Northern, Kimberley and Arnhem Aboriginal Artists (ANKAAA) is
seeking capability statements/CVs from suitably qualified individuals and
organisations that are interested in delivering a range of arts and business
training and development activities to artists and arts workers in a number of
its member Aboriginal owned and operated Art Centres.
ANKAAA
is compiling its Service Providers Register, a reference tool for Art Centre Managers
& staff seeking to engage qualified trainers and support services as
required.
Art Centres
have identified the following support and training needs:
Business development services - to assist with the implementation of actions to
strengthen business operations as identified in business plans, for example:
marketing & promotion strategies, design, customer service
& sales, financial literacy (money story) & financial
management; bookkeeping incl MYOB; human resources
support (recruitment & retention; managing effective teams; performance
management); effective administration systems; submission writing; media
training & support; export preparation & planning.
Governance – general governance
training for executive and staff.
Technical - data management, cataloguing, digital
photography, website design & management, online OH&S, chainsaw
operation and safety; MYOB,
Art – weaving, print making, silk screen printing, jewellery making, carving/sculpture,
new media, colour/paint workshops, canvas
preparation and stretching, bark preparation, bark strapping; pricing strategies, curatorial skills, exhibition
preparation, gallery presentation, conservation/ storage, freight packaging,
preparation & forwarding.
Other – employee support services (cross cultural awareness, counselling,
conflict management, effective communication, team building, living in remote
communities); implementing community development initiatives.

Experience working with Indigenous owned
organisations in regional and remote areas to achieve successful development outcomes
for individuals and communities.
4.
An outline
of your training approach, including
proven capacity to deliver services effectively in remote communities, details
of flexible delivery options.
5.
Budget: details of your fee structure,
including costs for remote area work, per diems. Please refer to any strategic linkages with
other organisations/ agencies through which training fees may be supplemented.
6.
At least 3
current referees (Preferably one or
more from Indigenous organisations).
Indigenous people and organisations are
encouraged to provide their details to ANKAAA. ANKAAA is particularly interested in
hearing from people who have previous experience working in or with Art Centres. However this is not a prerequisite for inclusion
in the service register.
